Spring Campout

Join Pack 444 for our annual Spring Campout and Outdoor Extravaganza! This year’s Spring campout promises to be a fun adventure for the whole family, with camping, hiking, games, fire building, cooking, and special surprises—there’s something for everyone. You don’t have to stay the whole weekend, and you don’t even have to spend the night, but every Pack 444 family should plan to come out for at least part of the weekend.

Haven’t camped out before or don’t have camping gear? NO PROBLEM!, we have you covered with available cabins (see below).

The whole weekend will culminate in Saturday night’s dinner followed by a special campfire program that will feature entertaining songs and skits lead by older Scouts from local Scouts BSA troops, followed by our celebration of every Scout’s accomplishments by awarding rank badges (Lion, Tiger, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos), Spring awards, and a crossover ceremony for every Scout to graduate into the next grade’s program. Finally, we will honor our 5th Grade Arrow of Light Scouts who have earned the highest award in Cub Scouting ,will crossover into Scouts BSA, and be received by their new Scout Troops! More info on these ceremonies is at this link.

Are cabins more your family’s style rather that tents? We’ve rented a multi-room cabin with bunk beds available for those who would rather not sleep in tents. Space is limited, so sign-up ASAP to reserve your space. Need a tent? Let us know and we’ll make sure that you have one available for you to use.

Blue and Gold Banquet & Cake Decorating Contest

Come one, come all to Pack 444's Annual Blue and Gold Banquet and Cub Scout Cake Auction/Decorating Competition!

Please RSVP (and sign up how your family can help in a small way) at this link by March 14.

The fun takes place at the Camp Belzer Activity Center and it begins at 4:30 p.m. with the Cake setup (see below) and dinner at 5:00. We will be cleaned up and out by 7:00. Scouts should wear the full uniform.

Dinner is FREE for scouts and their families. We'll be serving pasta, breadsticks, and salad provided by Fazoli's.

At this yearly celebration, we will:

  • honor the many accomplishments of our fifth grade Webelos Scouts by awarding them Cub Scouting's highest award, the Arrow of Light,
  • witness those Webelos "cross over" to Boy Scouts in a dramatic ceremony,
  • present Scouts with their new Ranks (Lion, Tiger, Wolf, Bear & Webelos), if they have finished their requirements (see your den leader),
  • award trophies to the winners of the Pinewood Derby,
  • recognize the amazing contributions of our adult volunteer leaders,
  • learn why your family should make Cub Scout summer camp part of your summer plans,
  • support local Scouting through the Friends of Scouting program, and
  • celebrate the 108th birthday of the Boy Scouts of America.

If that isn't enough, this year we're starting what we hope becomes an annual tradition of holding a Cake Auction and Competition where Scouts will show off their sweet culinary skills in cake baking and decorating. We encourage each scout to participate by baking a cake with an adult partner and decorating it in the most creative way you can think of! Awards will be given to recognize the creativity that our scouts are bound to show. We'll hold a silent auction that night with the proceeds being dedicated for "camperships" that will help scouts go to summer camp who might not be able to afford it, and support pack activities. Download a flyer with the guidelines for the Cake Competition here.
